"He was more than a moment"
I used to sit beside him in Class 10’s air, Books between us, but my heart laid bare. Laughter in whispers, notes half-scrawled— I think that’s when the falling called. By Class 11, it wasn’t just fate, We slipped into love—though we called it "late." A situationship, not named too loud, But every glance felt like a vow. He wasn’t mine, not in the end, But God, he was more than just a friend. A month, they’d say—but they weren’t there, To feel how deeply he filled the air. I tried to move on, with someone new, A boy who was kind, and mostly true. For seven months, I gave him my best, But love can’t grow in a borrowed chest. And when he left, the pain was sharp— A second tear across my heart. Still I wonder, with every breath, Was it love… or just the fear of death Of what I felt before it all— For the boy I met in that quiet hall. Because I loved him—still maybe do, Not for a month, but all the way through. Even when I tried to let it fade, His name was the echo my heart still made. So here I am, with love in twos, But only one I ache to lose. I don’t know who I love the most, But I know who feels like a ghost— Haunting gently, sweet and slow— The boy from tuition, long ago.
