Haunted Echoes:
Sedentary. Silent souls frozen in a cemetery. But wait. Something awakes. Sometimes it's shadow fades. Eerie crimson eyes glowing in a sinister face. What is its name? Cloaked in black it has razor-like spines across its back. It's a crimson stained creature with an urge to taunt. I'm afraid it might be a nightgaunt. It creeps from tomb to crumbling tomb. A whisper soft, a whispered doom. Instilling dread in slumber deep. As silent souls begin to weep. A cold sweat trickles down my spine. Will I become its next design? To writhe in terror, trapped in sleep. While nightmarish shadows endlessly creep. In the air there is such an awful stench of decay, but wait, there's hope. A shimmering way. A flicker of light with an ethereal scope. A sprite with wings of moonlight, a whisper of song. Drawn to the nightgaunt by something strangely wrong. The sprite fluttered closer, its light a soft shield. But the nightgaunt's grin revealed something concealed. Beneath the spines, a face, pale and drawn. A horrifying echo, a loved one long gone. The loved one's face, a mask of cruel delight. Yet in its eyes, a flicker of fading light. The sprite's song, a plea for a love long defied. A melody of hope, on the abyss's tide.
