Handspring
You never had to love me the way that you did, It wasn’t your job to lighten my load, But I endlessly thank you for letting me be a kid, In a world that felt so cold. So here we are, the final breath, I wish I could change the hands of death, although I couldn't be there to say our last goodbyes, I'll paint you like a saint, until we meet up in the sky. Your heart, it taught me how to fight, In the darkest days, you were my light With every laugh and every tear, You showed me how to face my fears. You told me size is not the measure nor the merit of a man, But that character says more than a whole lifetime can. Your words breathe life into my torn and troubled mind. The wisdom you supply could one day lead the blind.
