Grief
It used to run through my heart now it infects my veins marking it's territory on the inside clawing to be let go but I still cling in the nights where I catch my tears because I'm scared if I let them hit the pillow your love will soak into the fabric and that'll be my last goodbye in the mornings where I turn from the mirror because I don't want to get lost in the eyes you used to look into because I may not find my way back at dinner when I can hardly stomach a bite because everything's been so bitter since you left everything is so unforgettable and I hate the way you've stained my life but God do I wish you were still standing here holding the ink.
