Grave's pain
Beneath the soil, in darkness deep, A soul now stirs, no peace, no sleep. No kin to aid, no friend to weep, Alone he lies, in shadows steep. The grave is tight, it presses close, For sins he hid, for pride he chose. Each fault now weighs, a heavy load, The deeds he sowed now line the road. Angels ask in voices stern, “What did you seek? What did you earn?” His tongue is tied, his heart aflame, He stumbles, lost, in guilt and shame. The life he loved, the fleeting chase, Now leaves him here, in this dark place. The wealth, the pride, the endless gain, None now soothe his soul’s deep pain. O heed, O heart, the path ahead, Prepare thyself ere you are dead. Seek mercy now, repent and pray, For soon you’ll face your Judgment Day. Turn back to Him, seek light, seek grace, Before you meet this lonely place. For worldly pride will fade and cease, In God alone, you’ll find true peace.
