Gratitude
here I sit in another group. Fake-ass coffee, my eyes start to droop. Suddenly I think back to what got me here. The pain and despair that earned me this chair. Gratitude! get me some!! I scream in my head. For if not here I would be dead. Dead... but not the dead when you lay in a box. six feet under, alone left to rot. The death I speak of is death while still breathing. no morals, no values, isolation in the dark. while torturing myself to get off that shot. So now wide awake, upright in my chair, grateful to God for sitting here.
