Goodbye that lingers
I never knew a goodbye would cut so deep And end that left us on terms we couldn't keep. At days end, I blame myself for the truth U shared For confessing what my heart has barely dared. Now I can't turn back or undo the past, Wishing my days weren't painted blue and grey so vast But filled with colours that dont fade so fast Five months have slipped by since that last goodbye, Yet still I miss you under the same dark sky. Those fleeting glances where I'd catch your gaze. Your brown eyes gleaming in sunlight blaze. Your curls, your smile which is rare Now hunt my days in silent I bear. Life become hollow, with no talks, no thrills. I'm drifting without you, against my will. If only I hadn't confessed, perhaps we'd be fine But does any of it matter, now that you're not mine
