Goodbye Beloved
A bed of flowers, the light of dawn, the shadows cower as they sing their song. The time is mournful, the pain acute. The melodies are soulful, as the archers prepare to shoot. The sky is on fire as his anger burns on. He watches the pyre that his beloved lies upon. A tight hold on his hand, their daughter trying to be strong. He reaches down, his arms a band, knowing that she was also wronged. Tears track down as the archers let loose. Their grief is a savage sound while the guilty await the noose. He says goodbye to his beloved as their daughter does the same. To enemies, he succumbed protecting their country lanes. Goodbye, Mi amoré whispered on the wind. A few tears more before they put him to bed.
