GOODBYE
Aunt, I never knew you well, Your voice a whisper in the swell Of family ties that stretched so wide, A name in stories, passed in stride. But now you’re gone, and in the quiet, A presence lingers, soft, yet riot. Cancer took what time had lent, A slow farewell, a silent end. I didn’t see your final days, No close embrace, no shared gaze, Yet in my heart, your memory stirs, A faded image, now a blur. Still, you were loved, I’m sure of that, Though our paths never truly sat, I’ll hold your name within the fold, A piece of you, though faint, still bold. Rest in that quiet peace, Where pain and sorrow finally cease. You’ll live in stories, softly told, In hearts that carry you, untold.
