Good
I think growing up I underestimated kindness, All this twisted grief and envy and resentment that I once swore would never touch my soul, Today they lay writhing beneath my skin in a mess of tangled inky darkness, How do I live like this? Slowly disintegrating into someone less human day by day, How do I keep hold of kindness and love and my humanity? I'm so terribly sorry, my God, How unworthy I am to be your daughter, This stained and wretched creature, I am unworthy, How do I be kind? When I feel as if I'm drowning on dry land? Help me my God, To hang tight to hope and light and all things good, To live beyond this darkness staining my soul, Help me remember how to be human.
