Glimpse of us
I remember that night like it was yesterday. We were lost in conversation, and before we knew it, the clock struck midnight. The world outside moved on, from 2013 to 2025, but for me, time stood still. I recall the little things you gave me - the book with your name scribbled on the first page, now collecting dust on my bookshelf. The cute clips that still hold my hair together, the blush that's still nestled in my college bag, and the lip gloss that I wear on special occasions. The flowers you handed me, still preserved in my bag, their beauty frozen in time. Even the stickers you gave me, still stuck in my wardrobe, untouched and unwrapped. Everything remains the same, just as you left it. But us - we're the only ones who haven't moved on. Our moments, our laughter, our whispers - all stuck in that one night, forever etched in my memory. The world may have changed, but for me, that night remains the same, a bittersweet reminder of what could have been. I often find myself wondering, what if? What if we had stayed together, what if we had made it work? But life had other plans, and now, all I'm left with are these tangible reminders of you, and the memories that haunt me still.
