Giving the pen to God
I've been scrambling, scratching words on the page, Trying to make sense, but it's been a cage, I've been writing, rewriting, day and night, But the story's not mine, it's not feeling right. I've been trying to control the narrative flow, But the words won't align, they won't let me go, I've been searching for the perfect phrase. So I lay down my pen, I surrender the might, And say, "God, take the story, make it your light," I'm done writing my own book, Now I'm giving the pen to God. Let Him write the chapters, let Him turn the page, Let Him tell the story, in His perfect way, I'll step aside, I'll let go of the reins, And trust that His words will bring life, not pains. I've been scrambling, scratching words in vain, But now I'll let God write the story, and I'll gain, A new perspective, a new point of view, A story that's not mine, but one that's true. ~Yolanda~
