Giving in ... To Let Go
Taken for granted by you? Oh, once again? Well that's nothing new I know that I'm nothing more than a means to an end A tool to be used, nothing more, nothing less A small death to my soul As unspoken words remain unsaid Of the same, redundant and pointless pleads My naive faith and heart that fell on deaf ears Tension seeps through the air Tinged with melancholy and clinging with despair Of the fact that I no longer *want* to care A constant one-sided effort; nothing has changed Actions continue to remain the same, Behind the same empty words and promises Disenchanted, Defeated, And just tired, At last I finally give up this illusion of you And loosen my grip and give into this The death of this friendship that cannot be fixed No longer, at least, by my hands or efforts alone That would obviously have never been returned With this, all that's left, is to just simply let go May freedom come to liberate my soul from you And instead, may solace and peace bloom
