ghost of the asylum
In halls where silence screams the loudest cry, The walls are whispers, shadows passing by. I need no one, yet here they all remain, Their faces blurred, like clouds of smoke and pain. I trusted them, those fleeting shades of light, But every hand I grasped dissolved in night. Betrayal lingers like a bitter taste, A venom clotting in the air I waste. Vape curls like fog, clouding what is real, Numbing wounds that time will never heal. Each breath I take, another weight to bear, A fleeting calm that hides the voids I wear. Judgment lost in hazy drifting skies, I fall again to broken trust and lies. Their words were knives I couldn't see or feel, Until the blood beneath my skin turned real. In this asylum, where the ghosts still cling, I need nobody—not a single thing. But through the haze, the truth cuts razor-sharp: The ones I trusted tore apart my heart. Now, I’m a shell with clouded eyes and mind, Inhaling poison, leaving all behind. The world outside is cruel and steeped in hurt— So here I stay, where darkness is my love.
