Generational Trauma
I come from a line of broken women breaking women. The unhealed wounds from each generation My family tree with rotten roots Infection spreading up our spruce. If one stood up and trimmed the tree Some maintenance could have set us free. Each mother in my family line projecting her insecurities right down the vine Toxicity spreads quick if you don't find the source The longer you leave it the more it takes its course Getting heavier and heavier for the next born to hold Eventually one of us has to break the mold Awareness is where I start On the path to heal my heart To realize all my insecurities and fears of rejection were never actually mine Everything starts to align Coming full circle as to why my mom was always so critical Maybe her intentions weren't so cynical Now I know it was never about me And with that I find a peace that sets me free. I no longer will carry the weight of all these generational traits I will change my daughter's fate. The reformation of our family tree Generational trauma stops with me.
