Future me
dear future me, if you're reading this now, I hope you're better, someway somehow. I know it's a lot, this page felt with ache, but here's where it starts, the truth I can't fake. is it still the same? the silence, the fights - the shadows that haunt during the loneliest nights? if you never escaped, or you're still in that place, I am deeply so sorry for what you will face. it's draining, it's burning, it's carved into my bones, what she said, it made me feel less alone. but mom just denied it - "he did nothing wrong." was I scared for her? or was I just reliving my own song? did I see myself in her frightened gaze? or was it just my mind, playing stupid tricks in the maze? I wish I told her, I wish I tried, but, she would've just cried. but I know how it ends, he'd turn away, she'd call me a liar, and he'd hate me someday. so I carry the secret, too sharp to let go, hoping someday I'll finally let somebody know. maybe you spoke, or maybe you stayed - either way, I hope the fear finally fades. I'll end it here, with a whisper and plea - that you've found hope and let yourself free. forgive what you had to do to survive, you're brave, you're here, and you're beautifully alive.
