Frozen Heart
In the frost of night, I carved my shield, A wall of ice, where warmth could never yield. The world, a storm, relentless and fierce, So I froze my soul, no wound to pierce.Cold winds whispered, "You must endure, Let no fire burn, keep intentions pure." But in the chill, my breath grew sharp, A lonely echo in a frozen dark. They called me cruel, a beast, a fiend, For in my chill, no life could glean. Yet they never saw the storms I faced, The blizzards born from love erased. My heart, a glacier, unyielding stone, To survive, I stood alone. But in the mirror, frostbit eyes, A monster stared, to my surprise. For in my cold, I lost the flame, The warmth of love, the softest name. Now, an ice-bound wraith, I stand apart, Frozen veins and a hollow heart. They call me monster, harsh and cold, But they never felt the stories untold. Of how the warmth betrayed my trust, And left me to gather frost and dust.So I remain, in shadows stark, A creature born of frozen dark. Protecting scars that never thaw, The monster in the mirror’s maw.
