From silent void where naught began, A universe in fire and span. The cosmic egg, a tiny spark, That burst to fill the endless dark. In swirling dust and nebula's light, Stars were born in fiery might. And planets formed from rocky creed, A new-born world, a fertile seed. The Earth, a molten, angry sphere, Where boiling oceans knew no fear. Volcanic breath and thunderous cry, Beneath a red and clouded sky. Then cooling came, a gentle hand, Upon the still-unwritten land. And rain in torrents poured and poured, Till seas of life were deep and broad. In waters warm, a simple cell, Awoke from slumber's silent spell. A single point, a life's first breath, Defying time and fearing death. Through eons slow, it learned to change, To grow and climb and rearrange. From tiny worm to fish of scale, A wondrous, evolutionary tale. The ferns grew tall, the forests green, A world in which no man was seen. The dinosaurs, a fearsome reign, With mighty jaws and endless pain. They ruled the Earth for ages long, A prehistoric, thunderous song. Then fate a comet's shadow cast, And brought their mighty age to last.
