From the Sun to the Sea (Pt.4)
He gave a warning of the precarious wings of debris, He had hope that we'd escape, so from the tower we did flee. I listened to father, and didn't stray too far, Away from the ocean, away from the star. But then when it worked, my heart filled with euphoria, Too bad I didn't remember father's aporia. I saw the waters, I waved back to the trees. I saw the sun, and thought myself greater than he. I gave myself credit I didn't deserve, I gave no thanks for my father's oeuvre. I should have listened to my father's call, But I flew too high, and I took the fall. Daedalus mourned my idiotic spree, But Helios laughed, and said he'd answered his plea. Father's face fell, remembering his prayer, Not knowing then the fate of his heir. For me to be safe is not what he asked, you see, But for me to be finally, truly free.
