From my roots
I grew up into a stable household Trying to pull the weight The money was tight The purse shelves were crying out. Reaching for cash, but it was scarce. My mother's hard labour Paid off those struggles. My school hours so long and exhausting. The friends made were worth saving. You can't always trust A wise will know what a fool can't see Lots of people wear two faces. Aging now, I know the truth I now know my way through The myths were lies, just you believe. Every Sunday, family gather for our main dish pie and chicken . The soup departed back to Saturday. When we go out it's always Barbecue Friday. I grew to be independent I don't know where life will take me Yuh mommy won't be there all de time Come yuh comin' yuh goh see The hardships won't set you free.
