From Heat to Hope
It was really hot, Sweat poured down, no shelter in sight, My strength drained, evaporating with the heat. I’d never felt this level of exhaustion, Body torn apart, screaming for rest, Was it the sun, or was it my weary soul calling the day? My eyes began to blur, begging for stillness, Legs trembling, aching with each step. I wondered what I did wrong, That even a simple song felt too heavy to hum. Knees frozen like blocks of ice, Until, out of nowhere, came a call, And suddenly, everything seemed alright. A roll of the dice, you never know which side you’ll land on, But gone are the days of crying and wailing. Now is the time to rise and shine. If you think the world is yours, it opens to you, If not, it turns against you, But that’s the thing with life— One moment you're drained, the next, you're alive.
