From Darkness to Light
I woke each day inside a storm, A hollow voice, a body worn. The needle whispered, just one more, But one became a thousand swords. I chased relief in smoky haze, Lost faces blurred, I lost my days. The mirror showed a stranger’s eyes, A silent plea beneath disguise. Then came a crack of tender light, A hand reached out, pulled me upright. Shaking bones and trembling breath, I chose to walk away from death. Step by step, I learned to stand, To build my life with steady hands. I found my voice, I found my name, And hope replaced the weight of shame. Now mornings bloom with honest air, I meet my past, but don’t live there. Strength grows in places once so bare - Love roots itself, and I repair. In quiet rooms, in shared release, I hear the proof that pain can cease. Through every trial, storm, and weather, With groups we heal, we rise, we recover together.
