friends to strangers •
In the quiet grip of illness' hand, I stumble through a desolate land. Fevered whispers of dreams deferred, Falling behind, my vision blurred. Once side by side in life's grand race, Friends fade, leaving an empty space. Drifting away on currents untamed, In shadows cast, our ties unnamed. The rhythm of laughter, now a distant song, Echoes of closeness, where did they belong? In the maze of sickness, I lose my way, As friendships wane and colors gray. In the solitude of weakened might, I yearn for the warmth of shared sunlight. Yet, as I falter, drifting from view, I find solace in moments, though they're few. Amidst the sickness, the distance, the haze, I cling to hope through life's shifting phase. Falling behind, friends drifting apart, Yet a resilient ember glows in my heart.
