Friends
Friends. Just friends. Friends. We're just friends. So now I can delete our playlist. I can rip my poems about you apart. I can delete the pictures my friends took of you while you were starring at me. I can stop dreaming about you. I can quit thinking about you all the time. I can stop hearing you in every love song and searching for a version of us in every movie. Because we're friends. Just friends. Friends who loved eachother more than anything. Friends who looked at eachother while someone in the group told a joke so they could catch a glimpse of the other's smile. Friends who texted eachother in dark nights. Friends who told eachother every secret. Friends who looked at eachother just a second too long to be just friends. Friends who decided that having eachother as just friends was better than losing eachother over a failed relationship. So with a deep breath I finish my last poem about my dear friend. Friend. Just a friend. Friends, right?
