Friends
In the void of my inbox, empty words they send, A facade of care, but all feelings pretend. No solace they bring, as my pain they ignore, Lost in loneliness, sinking even more. Striving to keep conversations afloat, My heart's feeble beat, a haunting note. They drift in and out, like shadows they roam, Leaving me abandoned, forgotten, alone. Each message I open, a desperate plea, For love, for compassion, some sign they see. But their words hold no substance, just a cruel lie, Meaningless exchanges, they let me die. A painful reminder that no true friends exist, just illusions. it seems,I long for love, but it's shattered like dreams. Each message I open, a cruel reminder, Of the void that surrounds me, growing even wider With every message opened, longing does persist, For "I love you" or "I care" to exist. But instead, meaningless words drift through the air, Conversations vacant, leaving me in despair. A veil of anguish shrouds me, I'm not myself, The pain I bear, like a mask, conceals my wealth. Leaving them on read in hopes they will perceive, But for now, my pain remains, refusing to leave. July 2nd 2023
