Friend Zone
I gave my heart, I gave my time, Hoped for love, a spark, a sign. Yet here I stand, in shadows cast, Where friendship lives, but love won’t last. I laugh, I share, I show I care, But still, it seems, you’re unaware. My warmth is yours, my soul I lend, Yet passion’s path, we cannot bend. I honor this space, though bittersweet, A bond of hearts where longing meets. I keep my peace, my worth intact, For love will come where hearts contract. Friendship’s gift, I hold with grace, But I won’t linger in empty space. I release desire, yet still remain, Whole, unbroken, free from pain.
