Freedom
Freedom a word so light upon the tongue, yet far from reach for many, young. A dream the weary long to claim, yet held back tight by power and name. Freedom from rights once stolen, cast aside, from bitter pasts we try to hide, from darkened days and silent cries, from tears that fall where shadow lies. Freedom in love we choose to fight, though hearts are torn and lose their light. A love once meant to be our home, now turned a cage where pain has grown. Freedom from eyes that judge and blame, like sharpened blades that scar your name. They strike unseen, they wound the soul, and slowly take what made you whole. Freedom so soft to say, yet hard to find, a distant dream within the mind. But through the hurt and endless strain, this fragile hope will still remain. And in your search, you’ll find a way, a quiet voice will softly say: “Just carry on, don’t lose your flame for freedom, too, will know your name.”
