Free Bird
An elderly man, in poverty he grew, Unaware if freedom he'd ever pursue. A humble soul, on vast land he'd roam, Seeking liberation, a freedom to own. Each wing adorned with clinging mud, Hard to cleanse without water's flood. Does he hope for the northern wind's grace? Or resign, waiting for his final embrace? He alone must seek a path to tread, Navigate the destiny where he's led. Will he choose a life to unfold, Or let his existence fade, untold? Difficult it is to be free after long captivity, In a life where assistance is a rarity. Many challenges he must face, Before savoring the sweetness of freedom's embrace. Now liberated, he soars in flight, Wherever he lands, in day or night. Whether low or high, his wings unfold, Free to dream, a story to be told. © Bernaldez Cristonette
