Fragile feelings

i try to act like a capable and confident adult. inside i'm still a little girl. i'm still the little girl, that sits shaking on the top of the stairs. i'm still the little girl, that needs to be comforted and held. i'm still the little girl, scared and confused by the world, feeling completely abandoned and alone.
