Fractured Mirror
A fractured mirror reflects my face, A twisted image, lost in time and space. The cracks run deep, a painful, jagged line, A legacy of hurt, a family's design. Their words, like shards, embedded in my soul, Leaving wounds that fester, taking their cruel toll. Unseen battles waged, within this weary heart, A silent scream unheard, torn cruelly apart. The weight of expectations, a crushing, heavy load, A constant pressure, a path I can't avoid. Their shadows loom, in every waking hour, Suffocating my spirit, stealing all my power. I try to reach for sunlight, to break free from the night, But darkness clings so tightly, extinguishing my light. The echoes of their voices, a haunting, constant drone, Whispering doubts and fears, leaving me all alone. I yearn for understanding, a gentle, healing hand, To mend the broken pieces, to make me understand. But the chasm between us, a gulf too vast to bridge, Leaves me adrift in sorrow, beyond all hope's rich ridge. Yet, even in this darkness, a tiny spark remains, A flicker of defiance, that whispers through the pains. I'll fight to find my freedom, to claim my rightful place, To shatter the reflection, and find my inner grace.
