Four years
Four years, felt like a lifetime, Trapped in a house that was never mine. Hands weren’t gentle, words weren’t kind, Kept my mouth shut, just to survive. But I still breathe, I still bleed, Still tryna figure out what’s left of me. The past don’t change, the scars still stay, But I won’t let ‘em take my name. Look in the mirror, don’t know who I see, A girl with a story too heavy to speak. Tried to run, but it don’t go away, It’s in my bones, it’s in my veins. But It ain’t just what happened to me, Ain’t just the hurt, ain’t just the screams. Singin my pain like a midnight train, Tryna turn thunder into rain. I still breathe, I still bleed, Still tryna figure out what’s left of me. The past don’t change, the scars still stay, But I won’t let em take my name. Four years gone, but I’m still here, Singin my blues, drownin out fear. Ain’t just pain, it’s the song I sing, And in these blues, I find my wings.
