Foster Kindness
It went silent, and you abruptly left I can't tell if it was because Our daisies are wilting My hands are too cold Or the fact you don't have enough money To keep us afloat But I'll sit here on this sheet Until the Sun falls into dusk And the earth grows cold once again Until A- I see you on the horizon Or B- my mom drags me back inside She pinches me by my ear And I find myself back on my bed Cold once again Kids these days care about "I" too much So I say "-Love you" out of spite Hoping you can hear the venom That drip from my canines And into my pillow Hoping you can hear the melody Even when I speak in tongues Capitalizing my noise To make every vowel a new beginning Just like how I thought we could be Do you think we could be nicer If we just looked in one another's eyes?
