Forgetting is a gift
I thank God for forgetfulness. For without it, I wouldn't have been able to love you. Without it, my soul would've been ripped apart every time you met my eyes. Curse memories and damn my memory, my heart still battles my head in the war of forgetfulness. For the heart aches to forget, but the brain remembers. I dare not say "I will never forget" after your harshness has burnt me to ashes, so I forget and forget and forget, to let myself forgive you, because with you, forgetting is a gift from God.
