Forever's not always
You were the steady rhythm in the quiet of the dark. I’m grateful for the light we shared, the way you made me see, The version of myself I only reached when you were with me. But now the air feels hollow where our laughter used to bend, The day you said those words, I don’t think we should be best friends again. It broke the "always" into pieces, left the future standing still, A void within my spirit that no other soul can fill. I’ll keep the warmth of what we were beneath a heavy sky, And watch the silver glow above as seasons pass us by. Though the world has shifted underfoot, you’re still the light I see, My moon forever and always.
