Forever, My Angel
I had hoped the world would pause, if only for a moment, This cruel, dizzying existence. That vehicles would skid to a halt, And rain would freeze mid-fall, suspended like tears as the sky mourns your departure from this world. But the earth continues on, marching forward with no sign of stopping, Showing no regard for the absence of one so cherished. The pain of your absence , now a constant ache within my heart, Will, in time, fade away, though its presence lingers. Now you are gone from this world, Your memory is all I have to cling onto. Forever, my angel.
