Forever?
Forever? by Jack A.S. Dunce Left all alone to face the twilight's dawn. Spring flitted all away while Summer passed by. Where has the promise of forever gone? Dumped at the curb when battered and drawn. All empty were those words except goodbye. Left all alone to face the twilight's dawn. 'till the air fills with the song of the swan, but all ran at just the red rooster's cry. Where has the promise of forever gone? The one thought to be the knight was a mere pawn, sacrificial lamb to those High; left all alone to face the twilight's dawn. Through thick or thin, stay true and hold on. But no one stayed when the stars fell from the sky. Where has the promise of forever gone? A future foregone as lost in the bygone, and everything turning out to be all lies; left all alone to face the twilight's dawn. Where has the promise of forever gone? ©️pgmr 10/12/2024
