In shadows cast, I found my way, To you, my heart did gently sway. But now I see, so plain and clear, Your love for me was never near. I'm sorry for the times I tried, To be the one right by your side. I never meant to be a burden, you know? Just wanted to share the love that I thought would grow. If I'm a burden, let me go, I never meant to cause you woe. My heart's now shattered, that is true, In pieces scattered, all for you. Even though I never got to see your face, I always had you in my favorite place. I never wished for love so strong, Yet you will never come along. I'll move on from this one-sided play, I really don't want to be the one to ruin your day. Everywhere, I longed for love I couldn't keep, Now in the darkness, I silently weep. My tears of sorrow freely flow, A broken soul, a world unfair. You knew my life story, all the pain, When my mom was lost to drugs, my pain. I thought you'd be my solace, my saving grace, But you were hardly there to fill that space. Though moving on feels far too long, I'll try my best to find where I belong 10/22/23
