Flying with broken wings
I get up even when I’m tired, Even when the world feels wired To knock me down, to watch me crawl. I stand, though I might barely crawl. No spotlight shines to say I’m strong, No anthem plays when I hang on. But every step, no matter how small, Still means I haven’t lost it all. I mess things up, I miss the mark, But I keep going through the dark. Not because it’s easy, never is. But giving up just isn’t it. I’ve cried in cars and laughed through pain, Pretended sunshine in the rain. People think I’ve got control. They never see what it takes to hold. And yeah, I’ve got some broken parts, Some silent screams and heavy hearts. But I’ve got fire too, and grit, And I won’t quit, not even a bit. So call it messy, call it brave, Call it stubborn, or just strange. But I keep moving, fight or flight, Cause broken wings still chase the light.
