Floating

I float in and out of people's lives Like a leaf in the wind I never stay long My patience in others is timed You know I'm there But at the same time, not You won't start to miss me Until I've gone to far I never make connections deep Because I don't know what I'll lose I don't compete with anyone else Because I know I won't win The spotlight hurts So I stick to the background Here and there but nowhere important I hide behind a smile So no one can see the broken girl underneath You won't know it's a disguise Because you are to focused on yourself I'm here, and there But in the background Like a leaf in the wind I float in and out of people's lives
