fleeting light
Like fleeting light as evening falls, Her memory fades, her voice withdraws. Like sand that slips through grasping hands, She drifts away, like distant lands. The moon retreats at morning's call, She forgets the moments, one and all. A love once bright now fades to mist, As if it never did exist. If tears could flood like oceans wide, You’d be the shore where they reside. The stars were made to frame your grace, Yet from afar, I watch, displaced. Cold and sad, but still in awe, I gaze upon the beauty I once saw. A fleeting light, a love confined, Forever etched within my mind.
