Firstborn’s Heart
Being the firstborn, a heavy ride, A rollercoaster, emotions collide. Dreams set aside, a silent plea, Living for what they want to see. We never say no, we never decline, Forced to follow, not chase what's mine. All we need is love and care, Yet from our parents, it's often rare. If we excel, we're praised so high, If we’re average, they question why. Blamed and hurt by words so cold, Left to wonder, left to fold. We never speak, we hold it in, Tears fall silent in the din. In fights, in pain, we break apart, Yearning for a softer heart. Then arrives a younger one, The love we had, now gone, now done. Once so close, now cast aside, Watching from a lonely tide. All we ask—love, support, a place to stand, A heart that holds, a gentle hand. Not just duty, not just norms, But space to dream, to love, to form.
