words give but never give up cheers to an empty cup never not living or at least not living enough so we make decisions when the going gets rough we look out for those who stand to be so tough not fancy only a button to my cuff I look like I'm gone red eyes wincing at the dawn no grass just dirt on my lawn still earth my feet are planted on thought gravity was held me up on turns out love just proved it wrong stand still and never let go proving things I don't even know the earth is moving far to slow words still like water flow rhyming movements being carried in tow dropping things and shouting look out below shooting all my ducks who stand out in a row belligerent movements to turn ideas to dough take apart the basic set it's about as close as you can get movements turn to time and dough means money in this rhyme so seek out wisdom first so you can tell which is worst or it might seem perverse riding shotgun in a hearse if I could add a melody there's no clue what they'd be telling me just minutes past the finisher not like they would surrender her looks like I'm the one out of line look past that pretty face of mine. so the black car carries on you didn't even notice I was gone
