Fireflies
In the hollow dark, they drift, Lonely embers, pale and swift, Silent ghosts of vanished light, Fading slowly from the night. Once they danced, a fleeting gleam, Now just shadows of a dream, A glow that whispers of the end, A spark too fragile to defend. Brief their fire, lost to time, A dying pulse, a waning rhyme, They flicker, falter, and expire, Cold ashes of a dying fire. Oh, fireflies, your fleeting flight, Fades like hope into the night, A flicker gone, without a trace, Lost to the void, a light erased.
