Filters & FOMO
the world looks perfect — until you zoom in. She posted a sunrise at 5am, I barely woke up for my 9am exam. He’s in Paris — or was it a reel? I’m stuck at home, eating my third meal. Flawless skin, beach-side grin, No one shows the mess within. They post love, travel, gold confetti — I post selfies, delete twenty. Everyone's glowing, growing, flexing, While I’m here... overthinking, texting. Why wasn’t I invited too? Is it me? Is it something I do? Filters fix the face, not the mood, FOMO feeds on solitude. So I smile wide, click, and crop, Pretend I’m fine — I never stop. But real isn’t always viral, And joy? It’s not a spiral. It’s laughing alone at a random meme, It’s dreaming big with no big team. So here’s my truth in pixel and rhyme — I’m not always okay, and that’s just fine. ‘Cause filters fade, and feeds get slow, But I’ll still be me — FOMO or no.
