Feelings
You can't run from them, They're light on their feet. Sometimes they sneak up to you and gut punch you. Or they simply breathe in your ear. Like waves washing your feet on the shore, Then receding with that pull out to the ocean. Like a cool refreshing spring, Or a murky, grey puddle. They change like the season, Autumn orange to winter white. Spring green to Summer skies. Sometimes you keep up, sometimes you don't. Fickle and fragile, Like Chinaware. Strong and fierce like steelware. The only thing they aren't is steady, That's why I don't trust feelings. They seem great until they're not. They look permanent When they're in disguise. A mirage in the desert heat. Hallucinations that look real. Hooded figures trying to intimidate. Until you face them and They're not. Never cling to feelings, They don't anchor you, They're the sea that sways with the wind. They keep you unsteady. Hold onto the truth. That is what keeps you down. That's your gravity. The center of your magnetic field.
