FEATHERY BIRTHDAY CARD
my bead-eyed friends are here already it's a funny alliance but it chose me and who wouldn't choose them? we sit in silence, each occupied in theirs my thoughts all over the place from the times past, the playful days to the days spent in the woody hills the hills that taught me what I now know the art of painting with eyes and hearing every note in the wind I'm also reminded of the days nearer of the days I smiled at shadows and if days I stayed up all night, musing to the days present, made owls friends not forgetful of the days not so far when day was night and night was day when mine shadow was a pariah and me voice nonexistent all this fleet by, oblivious of company a flutter of Wings returns me to the now " life is no celebration featherless friend, a day lived is not a day older but a day nearer to the gates of hell tis good to reminisce the past but not at the cost of what's to come Happy birthday Oracle" their beady eyes meet mine and sunrise is here to a better year folks
