We were not blood related But you accepted me as your own I was like a fourth child to you You were my chosen family Until you said Jesus could fix me Until your mom called Saying we couldn’t talk We were so close But I guess it meant nothing You tore me apart After pulling me together Your what kept me going When I had nothing left I remember wanting to Text you ‘good morning’ Then the pain of remembering I can’t Nothing hurt worse Then needing your comfort But realizing I’m not allowed to It worse than when my knee gave out Then having to walk down stairs At least I had you for that
