Falling Unaware
I hate this ache, I hate this burn, I hate the way my thoughts all churn, A simple crush, it shouldn’t stay, Yet you won’t seem to fade away. Why does it sting, this heavy chest, Seeing you there, with her at rest? Just one small glance, a passing sight, And yet it haunts me late at night. Is this a fall I didn’t choose, A silent slip, a grip I lose? We met but once, a fleeting chance, But still I’m lost in this strange trance. I hate this feeling, hate this pain, A fire I can’t seem to contain, Yet here I am, lost deep and true— Have I already fallen for you?
