Falling out of time
She tried to love him, slow and unsure, A feeling too quiet to ever be sure, Yet somehow her heart began to sway, Just when his own was drifting away. He moved on quickly, without explaining why, While she stood there with a quiet sigh. One moment he's close, the next he's gone Leaving her wondering what went wrong. She never loved him with her whole heart, Yet losing him still pulled her apart. Strange how someone who never stayed, Can still feel like a bruise that never fades. Now she sees him laughing with someone new, But inside, a quiet ache slips through. Not a love that shattered her completely; Just a quiet ache she carries discreetly. And maybe the ache won’t fully erase, But each day it settles into a quieter place. Not a wound meant to last her whole life; Just a soft memory fading out of sight.
