Falling into you
Forgive my unromantic demeanor. I do not play the guitar, know the waltz, or the secret language of flowers; I neither know how to dance nor speak French. I tried, borrowing from movies, but romance has always failed me, slipping past like water through my hands. I bought some chocolate, but the heat got to it. I am no wealthy heir, nor a traumatized bad boy, nor a disillusioned artist. No accent, no charm, no trait, that checks the boxes and yet, you are everything I saw in those movies: smart, funny, beautiful, and all. Still, here I stand, offering these awkward words as the closest thing I have to love. So will you take my hands tonight, as I ask the host to change the music?
